Server/infrastructure failure
No server or infrastructure component lasts forever. Failure is inevitable; however, servers don't come with an expiration date. Redundant backups provide basic protection - but before you can restore your data backup, the root cause (the server or infrastructure) has to be addressed and made ready for the data restoration. A more complete solution would include onsite Business Continuity protection, whereby your onsite device can spin up and take over for the failed server(s) at a moment's notice.
Facility failure
Neither natural nor man-made disasters come with advance warning - at least not enough to rest our business continuity plan on. Fires, floods, tornados, earthquakes, vandalism or deliberate sabotage can strike at any moment and render your entire facility - or a significant portion thereof - unusable.
To protect yourself from a facility failure, you'll need offsite Business Continuity protection. You're going to have enough on your mind; you shouldn't have to worry about your IT services, too.
Bull Valley Software offers three levels of Backup & Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity (BDR/BC) services to fit your unique needs and budget.
Level 1: Backup & Disaster Recovery (BDR)
Our Business Analyst will evaluate your unique requirements and data usage profile. From this analysis, we will develop a backup and archival solution to protect your irreplaceable data, which will include replication of your data to BVS' Private Cloud for maximum security.
Level 2: BDR plus Onsite Business Continuity
This option includes all of the services described in the Backup & Disaster Recovery solution above, along with onsite Business Continuity. With this solution, in addition to providing a secure backup of your data, our onsite backup device also replicates and hosts your critical servers in a virtual environment. In the event of a physical server failure, this onsite device immediately takes over the responsibilities of the failed server(s), and your business continues without interruption. This option is best for ensuring business continuity in the event of a server or infrastructure failure, but does not provide immediate response if you were to suffer an entire facility failure or natural disaster.
Level 3: BDR plus Offsite Business Continuity
This is the highest level of BDR/BC service available. Every day, all information from the offsite backup device is replicated to one of the dedicated offsite disaster recovery servers in our secure datacenter, where your critical servers are hosted in a virtual environment. In the event of a declared disaster, your data and services of your critical servers will be available with little or no delay from BVS' Private Cloud.
